Why “Elephants & Monkeys?”
Much of Chris' expertise comes from working with a diverse range of clients in the former Soviet Union. On the tarmac and inside the hangars in this part of the world, aviation maintenance personnel are nicknamed “слоны” (elephants) or “обезьяны” (monkeys), depending on their areas of specialization: Airframe and powerplant engineers are “elephants” and electrical and avionics technicians are “monkeys.”

Elephants & Monkeys Consulting LLC was founded by Chris Blumenthal in 2004 in Amsterdam. In 2008 our headquarters moved to Oregon. Chris’ background includes aircraft engineering, airline technical support, aircraft sales and VIP aircraft consulting.
Chris personally manages all projects, calling in other specialists on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific requirements. His contacts include reliable experts who provide financial, legal, operational and technical aviation assistance, as necessary.
At the center of Chris’ philosophy is independent, impartial advice -- a rarity in the industry. Elephants & Monkeys is not affiliated with any completion center or vendor and does not accept payment or commissions for referrals from vendors or subcontractors.
